The end of the year is approaching. It’s the time of year when we reflect on the months past, give thanks for loved ones, gather for the holidays, and declare new visions for the next year.
It’s been an honor to spend the last quarter with you and in this community supporting wonderful Black women. The progress we’ve made building this movement and reaching over 1500 women since July 2015 has been celebrated by my mentors, such as Rosetta Thurman (Happy Black Woman) and LaShanda Henry (Sistasense). I feel fulfilled knowing that I’m helping other Black women to fulfill their purpose, honor their callings and become the leaders they desire and deserve to be.
In addition to celebrating this community, I’m writing today to share that I’m preparing to surrender.
Have you ever you felt lost, weary, or stuck?
As you may know, the remedy to these conditions begins with rest. I must confess that I haven’t allowed myself adequate time for restoration, and consequentially, I haven’t been well. I’m ready to fully reclaim my life. So, I’m surrendering in order to love and honor the self (myself).
I believe loving yourself is knowing how and when to surrender for your highest good; trusting the resilience in you because you know how to bounce back.
For the next 30 days, I am attending a residential treatment center for my complete renewal. And I will be fully unplugged from the world (no internet or cell phone). I’m not writing this as a goodbye, but simply to say, “See ya later!”
I appreciate you. I hope my journey encourages you to rest so that you may also regain your strength.
Embark on your own 30 Day Restoration
For us Black women, choosing wellness is an act of resistance. Will you rise up with me and fight for your wellness? Imagine how much more fulfilling life would be like if you aligned yourself with Spirit, your intuition, and your values.
Reflect: What would focusing on yourself and taking care of yourself do for your life? What is one thing you can commit to doing over the next 30 days to love yourself?
If you’re not sure, ask yourself: What do I need today to be well? Let your intuition guide you. The first answer is usually the best answer!
See you in December,
Peace & Love,
Quanisha
